“Focus on Mindoro” is the theme of a photo contest being sponsored by the Friends of the Mindoro Community Library.
Photos will be judged in two separate divisions, each with the same five categories. The divisions are adult (age 15 and older) and youth (age 14 and younger). Categories include: animals, children (age 14 and younger), people/activities in the Mindoro area, scenic Mindoro area and flowers. Entries are limited to two photos per category (total 10 entries per person).
Prints are to be no larger than 4x6 and be mounted on 7x11 white tagboard (one photo per sheet). Do not frame or matte photos. Each entry is to be marked on the back with photographer’s name, address, division and category. Prints may be color or black-and-white, and images may be made with any type of camera. Digital images must be submitted as prints. Photos are to be taken since Jan. 1, 2005.
Entries must be received no later than 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13. They may be dropped off at the Mindoro Elementary School Library or mailed to: Mindoro Elementary Library, P.O. Box 108, Mindoro, WI 54644.
Judging results will be announced at the Oct. 23 meeting of the Friends of the Mindoro Community Library. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Mindoro Elementary School Library and is open to the public.
The theme of the Oct. 23 meeting is “Focus on Mindoro.” Ribbons will be awarded for first through fourth place in each category plus a Best of Show Award in each division. Award-winning entries will be displayed throughout the community in the month following the competition. Other entries must be picked up at the Mindoro Elementary School Library by Nov. 28.
