The following log is based on reports from the Holmen and Onalaska police and fire departments.

Onalaska police

Monday, May 5

9:15 a.m. — An employee of Heider Motors on Mason Street reported someone had shot a vehicle with orange paint balls the night before. The neighboring business, Solid Surface Specialists, also was hit twice.

3:28 p.m. — A male party was videotaped stealing aluminum cans from the recycling cage at ServiceMaster on the 1100 block of Venture Place shortly after 9 o’clock the previous night. He also created about $110 worth of damage to the cage. Proceeds from the cage were for the Coulee Region Girls Hockey Club.

3:56 p.m. — A woman on the 1000 block of Oak Avenue South reported someone had stolen her bicycle, parked next to her house.

Tuesday, May 6

10:04 p.m. — A homeowner on the 700 block of Domke Street reported someone tried to break into his home between 1:30 and 3 p.m. The owner left the home, then when he returned to the home he found the apartment door damaged. Someone had tried to damage the steel door jamb above the dead bolt, and a four-inch section of the wood frame was damaged.

Friday, May 9

1:38 p.m. — An employee at Wells Fargo Bank reported receiving a $20 counterfeit bill from a deposit from the Holmen McDonald’s restaurant.

2:09 p.m. — A 64-year-old man reported someone had damaged his residence on the 100 block of Third Avenue South. The home was shot with seven or eight paint balls.

3:10 p.m. — A Kwik Trip employee on Highway 16 reported a gas drive-off worth $36.50.

3:34 p.m. — A 9-year-old boy was referred to social services for waving a knife around two students who were walking home from school past the 200 block of Oak Avenue North.

5:17 p.m. — A 24-year-old man was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. His girlfriend was trying to break up with him because he had been abusive in the past and had gotten angry when she wanted to set up her own checking account.

8:58 p.m. — A 32-year-old La Crosse man was arrested for retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. He took a two-pack of cough syrup and a two-pack of bar soap from the Shopko store on Highway 16 and when approached at a nearby bus stop, he was smoking marijuana and had hidden a glass pipe that had burnt marijuana in it. He also had an outstanding warrant for possession of marijuana.

9:17 p.m. — A 24-year-old man was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and a probation officer hold for assaulting his girlfriend on the 600 block of Fourth Avenue North. The girlfriend said he tried to strangle her.

Saturday, May 10

1:18 a.m. — A Minnesota woman reported her tires had been deflated and her car scratched while she was at the Onalaska American Legion.

3:39 a.m. — A 43-year-old La Crosse woman and a 45-year-old Onalaska man were arrested for domestic battery, disorderly conduct and obstructing. The two had been in an argument and she struck him on the forearms with a stick. At one point the stick bounced back at her and struck her in the head causing a scalp wound. They originally told a false story about the assault. The man was also charged for two counts of bail jumping as he violated a bond condition that prohibited drinking.

Sunday, May 11

1:21 a.m. — A 28-year-old Chetek man was arrested for driving with a prohibited alcohol content and possession of marijuana.

8:43 p.m. — A 16-year-old girl was arrested for disorderly conduct for fighting and yelling obscenities at her mother. She was being disciplined for not going to school.

Monday, May 12

8:13 a.m. — A 39-year-old man reported someone had run a vehicle into the shed on his property on the 900 block of Riders Club Road. Someone had backed into the shed, causing it to be damaged, and everything inside was pushed through the back wall of the shed. There was red paint from a vehicle on the shed.

4:36 p.m. — A 40-year-old man reported someone had damaged his truck parked at the Shopko while he was inside. The damage was to the right rear quarter panel and bumper.

Holmen police

Tuesday, May 6

10:08 a.m. — An employee at the BP station on Holmen Drive reported someone had passed a counterfeit $20 bill. The bill was traced back to the First National Bank on McHugh Road. Bank officials said they get numerous packets of bills from area businesses and the counterfeit must have been missed.

12:26 p.m. — An 81-year-old man on the 100 block of Second Avenue East reported someone illegally using his bank account and the bank kept calling him about the account. The bank said they couldn’t help him because he would not provide the last four digits of his Social Security number on the phone.

2:06 p.m. — An 11-year-old boy was referred to juvenile services after throwing a chair at staff members of Family & Children’s Center. He was charged with disorderly conduct and damage to property. He said he was mad because he was made to go to the time-out room and he didn’t know why.

4:49 p.m. — A resident on the 500 block of Ryan Street reported neighbor kids were hitting golf balls onto his yard. The youths were given verbal warnings.

7:43 p.m. — A man on Westminster Avenue reported someone repeatedly calling him saying he is from the IRS, or a pharmaceutical company, or a medical facility and asking him for account information. The caller speaks with a heavy accent with broken English. The complainant contacted the FBI and they told him to contact the local police.

Thursday, May 8

8:50 p.m. — Police responded to a complaint about two male youths shooting bottle rockets from a moving vehicle in the area of Amanda Court. Nothing was found.

Saturday, May 10

1:45 a.m. — Police responded to a noise complaint at Smokey’s Bar, where a verbal warning was issued.

Onalaska fire

Tuesday, May 6

11:14 a.m. — Fire call on Kinney Coulee Road South for a false alarm.

3:16 p.m. — First responder call on Kreuger Court for someone injured in a fall.

5:01 p.m. — Fire call on Pearl Street for a downed power line.

6:56 p.m. — First responder call on Coachlite Court South for a person experiencing dizziness.

Wednesday, May 7

10:16 a.m. — First responder call on Highway 16 for a person who was choking.

1:22 p.m. — First responder call on Sobkowiak Road for a person who fell.

7:58 p.m. — First responder call on Braund Street for a man who was disoriented.

9:16 p.m. — First responder call on 13th Avenue South for a person injured in a fall.

Thursday, May 8

12:03 a.m. — First responder call on Highway 16 for a person with abdominal pain.

12:22 a.m. — First responder call on Wilson Street for a person having trouble breathing.

5:34 a.m. — First responder call on 13th Avenue South for a person who was unable to stand.

6:51 a.m. — Fire and first responder call on North Kinney Coulee Road for a vehicle accident with injuries.

4:47 p.m. — First responder call on East Circle Drive for a person injured in a fall.

Friday, May 9

3:06 a.m. — Fire call on Crossing Meadows Drive for a gas leak.

1:33 p.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person with abdominal pain.

Saturday, May 10

3:32 a.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person injured in a fall.

3:42 a.m. — First responder call on 16th Avenue South and Main Street for a person with a hand injury.

8:17 a.m. — First responder call on Crossing Meadow Drive for a person with abdominal pain.

5:52 p.m. — First responder call on Market Place for a baby who had fallen.

7:17 p.m. — Fire call on 12th Avenue North for an authorized, controlled burn.

11:03 p.m. — Fire call on Critter Court.

Sunday, May 11

8:43 a.m. — First responder call on 17th Avenue North for a person with an unknown medical problem.

11:36 p.m. — First responder call on 13th Avenue South for a person who needed assistance.

Monday, May 12

4:15 p.m. — Fire call on 13th Avenue South for a vehicle accident with injuries

5:10 p.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a vehicle accident with injuries.

8:05 p.m. — First responder call on Main Street for someone with a heart problem.

3:03 a.m. — First responder call on the 600 block of Pioneer Drive for a vehicle accident with injuries

5:37 a.m. — First responder call on the 3500 block of Highway 35 South for a person with a head injury.

Monday, May 5

6:47 a.m. — First responder call on the 900 block of Linden Drive for a person with an unknown medical problem.

2:41 p.m. — Fire call on the N7300 block of Cassberg Coulee Road for a grass fire.

6:35 p.m. — First responder call on the 100 block of Second Avenue East for a person with chest pains.

Thursday, May 8

10:41 a.m. — First responder call on the 500 block of Main Street for a person with chest pains.

2:49 p.m. — First responder call on the N5400 block of Eagle Circle East for a person with an unknown medical problem.

7:57 p.m. — Fire call on the 2700 block of Cedar Avenue South for a chemical hazard.

9:17 p.m. — First responder call on the 100 block of Buckingham Lane for a person who was ill.

Friday, May 9

9:40 a.m. — First responder call on the 1500 block of Wolfe Drive for a person who was ill.

10:54 a.m. — First responder call on the W7800 block of Broadmore Park Drive for a person with an unknown medical problem.
