Holmen High School senior Kallie Mechling, the daughter of Bruce and Karen Mechling, was honored as HHS Student of the Week in part because of her contributions on the softbll field.

Mechling is 6-1 on the mound this year and is batting .333 for the season. “She has been a very consistent player both in practice and in games,” said coach Mark Wall, who nominated Mechling for Student of the Week.

Other activities she is involved in besides softball are DECA and basketball and volunteers for the American Red Cross.

After high school she plans to major in elementary education and play softball at Viterbo University in La Crosse.

Her advice for other students is to have fun in high school.
