The following log is based on reports from the Holmen and Onalaska police and fire departments.

Onalaska Police Department

Monday, May 26

5:50 a.m. — A 16-year-old boy was arrested for possession of 27 grams of marijuana and a homemade pipe. He had been picked up for speeding on Riders Club Road at Franklin Street. Unopened beer cans were also found in the vehicle. He was charged with operating while under the influence, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Tuesday, May 27

Midnight — An employee at Kwik Trip on Crossing Meadows Drive reported a gas drive off of $22.01.

3:57 p.m. — A man reported his 16-year-old son had damaged their home on the 1000 block of Westview Circle after an argument.

4:17 p.m. — A 53-year-old man reported someone had broken into his truck while it was parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Items stolen from the truck were keys to his place of employment, a lunch cooler and a cell phone. Wal-Mart employees said there was a man that had been looking into vehicles and the video surveillance was examined.

5:15 p.m. — A employee of Kwik Trip on Highway 16 reported a gas drive off of $27.99. The license plate shown on the video tape indicated the car was owned by a business in Minnesota.

6:58 p.m. — A Wal-Mart employee reported a man had left the store without paying for repair work on his tire that cost $9.50. The man had argued that he bought the tire there in November 2007 and should not have to pay. Wal-Mart wanted to press theft charges and to issue a trespass notice that he was prohibited from being on any Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club properties.

7:16 p.m. — A 31-year-old woman reported someone had struck her car while it was parked at the Kohl’s store.

Wednesday, May 28

1:11 a.m. — Custodians at Onalaska High School reported vandalism to the building and the football field. A large quantity of trash, nails, screws and bolts were scattered along the parking lot and underneath the custodian’s vehicles. Fluorescent lights in the parking lot were shattered. It appeared someone had grabbed trash bags from a residence on Eighth Street South, brought them to the school and dumped them around.

2:12 p.m. — A 45-year-old La Crosse woman reported her laptop computer valued at $1,000 was stolen from a secure room at the OmniCenter over the weekend. She also said other items were stolen amounting to $290.

3:07 p.m. — A 23-year-old woman was arrested for attempting to fraudulently obtain a schedule II narcotic (hydrocodone) by pretending to be a physician calling in a prescription to the Target pharmacy. She was also charged with two counts of bailjumping.

4:48 p.m. — A 17-year-old boy reported he had been jumped while standing outside a friend’s apartment smoking a cigarette. He said a green Jeep pulled up, two guys got out and then put him in a choke hold, punched him in the face, and emptied out his pockets stealing his cell phone and apartment keys. He said he had never seen the two guys before. The cell phone and the keys belonged to his girlfriend.

5:52 p.m. — A 58-year-old woman reported receiving a threatening e-mail at her home on the 200 block of Larch Avenue. The e-mail said the sender had received “some ransom” in advance to “terminate” her but that he/she had pity on her. The e-mail went on to request the woman contact the sender to avoid them from “doing their job.”

Thursday, May 29

10:11 a.m. — A 27-year-old Onalaska man reported someone was fraudulently using his debit card without his permission. About $1,200 worth of merchandise on about 50 different transactions was charged to the account.

12:49 p.m. — A Mindoro man reported a cell phone was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at the Kwik Trip on Crossing Meadows Drive that morning.

Friday, May 30

12:34 p.m. — Police responded to a call at the Baymont Inn regarding a fired employee who wouldn’t leave the premises. Before leaving, he said he would kill himself. Police found him and called crisis intervention.

Saturday, May 31

10:45 a.m. — A 62-year-old woman reported someone had caused damage to the interior of her car while it was parked on the 1000 block of Oak Avenue South. The trim to the dashboard had been torn off and the radio face damaged. She suspected a neighbor as she had had some trouble with them in the past.

11:39 p.m. — A 38-year-old woman was wanted in connection with a disorderly conduct charge after throwing her boyfriend’s personal belongings out the back door of the house on the 600 block of Rolling Oaks Drive. She also was charged with two counts of bailjumping.

Holmen Police Department

Tuesday, May 27

No time given — A 23-year-old Onalaska woman was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property for ripping up her ex-boyfriend’s clothing and putting them in a trash bag at their home on the 3500 block of Highway 35. The woman said a friend of her ex-boyfriend had called that afternoon and was rude to her and calling her names and she could hear the ex-boyfriend laughing in the background. She ripped the clothes in anger and said they were clothes he never wears and had been in the bag since they had moved in together.

2:38 p.m. — A woman on the 200 block of Gaarder Road East found two small children, about 2 or 3 years old, in her garage. The children did not seem to speak English. The police were able to contact a family member.

7:23 p.m. — A 16-year-old boy was reported missing by his mother who had seen him last at 7:20 a.m. that day. He was listed as a probable runaway.

11:11 p.m. — A 23-year-old woman reported her bike had been stolen while it was locked at Northern Engraving while she worked there. The bike was valued at around $300.

Wednesday, May 28

1:33 a.m. — Police received a call from a resident on the 1100 block of Western Avenue complaining that someone was walking around back yards and trying to open doors.

11:17 a.m. — Police responded to Sand Lake Elementary about a 9-year-old girl who was out of control.

Thursday, May 29

7:23 a.m. — Holmen police responded to a request for help from the Trempealeau County sheriff’s office for an out of control person at a group home on Highway 35 on the county line.

8:06 a.m. — Police issued a verbal warning to residents on the 600 block of Amanda Court because neighbors were complaining about their barking dog.

3:15 p.m. — A 14-year-old boy was referred to juvenile services charged with disorderly conduct and battery. He struck his mother in the back of the neck and threw soda at her while she was driving. The mother drove directly to the police station.

7:59 p.m. — A 40-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery due to an altercation she had with her daughter at the daughter’s apartment on the 100 block of Holmen Drive North. The mother had slapped her daughter and a physical fight ensued during which both sustained injuries.

Friday, May 30

6:38 p.m. — A woman reported her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was parked at the Holmen Library. She said the vehicle was not locked.

Saturday, May 31

12:35 a.m. — A 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were arrested for disorderly conduct and battery after physically assaulting one another during an altercation at their home on the 600 block of Amy Drive.

2:18 a.m. — A 25-year-old Onalaska woman was arrested for repeatedly hitting a 26-year-old man while they were at Smokey’s Tavern. The man said he didn’t know who the woman was but she kept calling him names. He left and when he was on his motorcycle she followed him out and struck him several times. The woman told police he had called her an obscene name.

4:59 p.m. — Residents on the 800 block of Saddlewood called to complain neighborhood boys had painted an offensive word on their driveway and an arrow pointing to their house.

Tuesday, May 27

2:37 p.m. — First responder call on Gundersen Drive for a person with chest pain.

3:31 p.m. — Fire call on Oak Forest Drive that was a false alarm.

Wednesday, May 28

9:23 a.m. — First responder call on Hilltopper Drive for a person with chest pain.

10:14 a.m. — Fire call on Fourth Avenue North for an oil or other combustible fire.

11:04 a.m. — First responder call on Highway 16 for someone bleeding.

5:35 p.m. — Fire and first responder call on Quincy Street and 10th Avenue North for a collision between a bike and a car.

8:34 p.m. — First responder call on Kristy Lane for a person experiencing weakness.

Thursday, May 29

12:07 a.m. — First responder call on 17th Avenue North for a person having an anxiety attack.

1:22 p.m. — First responder call on Hilltopper Drive for a person with an unknown medical problem.

4:08 p.m. — Fire and first responder call on Miller Road for a downed power line.

6:44 p.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person injured in a fall.

9:11 p.m. — Fire call on Critter Court for an unknown problem.

Friday, May 30

6:22 a.m. — First responder call on Mason Street for an unknown medical problem.

12:40 p.m. — First responder call on Goodview Place for a person unable to stand up.

9 p.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person injured in a fall.

2:05 p.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person injured in a fall.

3:01 p.m. — Fire call on Highway 35 and Cloverdale for a downed power line.

6:11 p.m. — Fire call on Oak Avenue North for unauthorized burning.

7:22 p.m. — First responder call on Second Avenue South for a person having a seizure.

10:58 p.m. — First responder call on the N7300 block of Highway 35 for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

10:26 p.m. — First responder call on the 700 block of Angel Court for a person with a breathing problem.

11:41 p.m. — First responder call on the N7500 block of Highway XX for a person who was ill.

Friday, May 30

5:37 a.m. — First responder call on the W7700 block of Highway ZB for a person with chest pains.
