When Onalaska and Holmen area students do well, we want to hear about it. The Onalaska Community Life and Holmen Courier publish news about student achievements from elementary to college. Here is the latest good news about Onalaska and Holmen area students:

The following area students were named to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire dean’s list for the 2008 spring semester:

  • HOLMEN: Corey Cunningham, Danielle Priem

  • ONALASKA: Benjamin Bruden, Alex Brueggen, Lisa Fluekiger, Adam Jaehnke, Dustin Luecke, Jennifer Mick, Nichole Novak, Emily Pierce, Briana Romundstad, Tiffany Torris

    Emily Schill, a graduate of Onalaska High School and daughter of Rick and Laura Schill of Onalaska, has been awarded a scholarship toward Northwestern University. Emily is in a graduate program for physical therapy at Northwestern. The scholarship was offered to all children and grandchildren of Schilling Supply Company employees.

    The following area students graduated from Winona State University:

  • HOLMEN: Bradley Bjerke, BS, business administration; Amanda Hanson, MS, advanced practice nursing; Bethany Larsen, BA (summa cum laude), art; Alesha Odegaard, MS, counselor education; Lindsey Sievert; BS (magna cum laude), elementary education; Marcus Williamson, BS (magna cum laude), medical technology

  • ONALASKA: Katie Aukes, AA, liberal arts and sciences; Kathleen Grapes, BS, business administration; Lindsey Hanson, MS, counselor education; Mandy Hess, MS, counselor education; Conan Kmiecik, MA, English; Travis Kobs, BA, mass communication; Sarah Neuman, BS (magna cum laude), elementary education; Amanda Woodard, BS (magna cum laude), elementary education

    Caitlin Hardie and Sarah Lang of Holmen were named to the highest honors list at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for the spring 2008 semester. Ben Overholt of Holmen and Jena Paulson of Onalaska were named to the school’s honors list.

    The following area students were named to the spring semester 2008 dean’s list at Winona State University:

  • HOLMEN: Jared Bagniewski, Erica Fremstad,Emily Fuchs, Daniel Huber, Thad Lee, Elisa Malvik, Christopher Meyer, Christopher Sesvold, Marcus Williamson

  • ONALASKA: Benjamen Goldbeck, Cortney Hoffman, Jonathan Jansky, Erin Martinson, Kathryn Mauel, Victoria Reno, Diana Reynen, Jerod Schmocker, Lindsay Sebben, Jason Varnum

    Jennifer Bailey of Onalaska graduated from St. Cloud (Minn.) State University with a bachelor of science degree in marketing.

    Katrina Meyer of Holmen, daughter of the Rev. Steven and Diane Meyer, graduated cum laude from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, with a bachelor’s degree in social work major,

    Hannah Scholze of Holmen, daughter of Edward and Ruth Scholze, graduated summa, cum laude from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, with bachelor’s degrees in history, world history education and American history education.

    Elizabeth Wittchow was named to the spring semester 2008 dean’s list at the University of Iowa in Ames.
